Silicon Valley Korean School, founded in 1974 in Cupertino, California, is the largest Korean language school in the world.

  • Mission Statement: Our mission is to provide high-quality education in all aspects of the Korean heritage by offering classes in Korean language arts, Korean history, and Korean cultural traditions from pre-K to adults.The goal of our school is to make the unique experience of the Korean heritage available to as wide an audience as possible. By offering differentiated classes we maintain a high standard of academic rigor as well as provide hands-on immersive experiences in Korean culture.
  • Students and Teachers: Each year, over 1,200 students in more than 55 classes learn the Korean language and culture. The school currently operates with 60 teachers and over 250 volunteers.
  • Educational Programs: We offer a variety of Korean language classes for students aged 4 to adults, as well as large cultural events like New Year celebrations and field day, along with over 30 different elective and enrichment classes.
  • Educational Goals:
    (1) Development of Sustainable Educational Programs: We continuously develop practical educational programs that align with the changing times, enhancing the quality of Korean language education. This improves the effectiveness of education, enabling students to communicate successfully in the global society and meet modern societal demands.
    (2) Cultural and Identity Education: Alongside Korean language education, we provide programs that allow students to deeply understand and experience Korean culture, history, and traditions. This broadens their understanding of Korean culture, offers opportunities to establish their Korean identity, boosts their pride, and helps them grow into healthy global citizens.
    (3) Community Engagement: By fostering cooperation with the local community, we strengthen the school’s role and expand the scope of education through interaction with the community.
    (4) Strengthening Teacher Expertise: We support ongoing training and research to enhance the professionalism of our teachers and actively adopt the latest educational methods and technologies to improve the quality of education.
