Regular Saturday Class
SAT 9:30 AM – 12:40 PM, Cupertino High School
SVKS offers 3 levels of adult in-person classes on Saturday. Each class curriculum is for 2 semesters, one year in length to complete. Saturday classes are not only learning language but also cultural aspects in depth.
Adult 1 (Beginner Level)
Adult1 class is designed for students with little or little background knowledge of Korean. Students will learn the Korean alphabet and basic grammatical sentence structure. By the end of the course, students will be able to communicate with Korean native speakers at basic everyday survival tasks.
Adult 2 (Intermediate Level)
This course will allow students to develop further listening comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Students will continue to learn to communicate on various daily topics such as introducing themselves, making an appointment, ordering food, getting directions, and more. Korean popular culture, ranging from K-pop and dramas/movies to food will be introduced.
* Pre-requisite: Students should be able to read and write the Korean alphabet to take this class.
Adult 3 (Intermediate-high Level)
This class is designed for students who either have completed Adult 2 at SVKS or have had about 2 years of experience learning Korean. Students will practice handling a variety of communicative tasks with some errors.
Community Class
Weekdays, Online
Adult Korean Beginner 1, 2, 3 (All Beginner levels)
Students will learn essential expressions and conversations.
* This beginner course consists of 3 parts, and it takes about 38 weeks
to finish. A simple placement test will be given after the beginner 1.
* Completing these 3 courses is equivalent to Adult 1 of Saturday in-person class.
Learn Korean language and culture through media including Korean dramas, movies, songs, and books.
